About Charles Louis Virion
Charles Louis Virion (1865 - 1946) was born in Ajaccio
on the Island of Corsica on December 1st 1865. He studied
sculpture under Charles Gauthier in Paris. Virion first
exhibited at the 1886 Salon in Paris and continued up until
the 1930's. He was awarded an honourable mention in 1893
and a 3rd class medal in 1895. He received a bronze medal
for his entries in the Paris Exposition Universelle of
1900. His bronzes are in the permanent museum collections
of Calais, St. Dizier, Rochefort, and Nemours.
